El món en xarxa, translation and other language services
My name is Xènia Lorente Fortes and I want to help you make your projects available for people, companies and organisations from all around the world so that you reach your goals with my translation, interpreting, proofreading and copywriting services.
I’m a graduate of the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting (ES, CA <> EN, RU). Thanks to my international experience I have been able to get to know some of the countries in which these languages are spoken, therefore I can offer high-quality linguistic and cultural services.
Besides my linguistic and cultural knowledge, I also received a Master’s degree in the field of social sciences, specifically in Area Studies and International Relations, in the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) in Moscow, Russia. I graduated with honours in 2019 and I received several certificates of excellence for high academic achievement and high quality of the scientific research in my Master’s thesis. RANEPA left notice of all of this in an article published on its website.
For two years I lived surrounded by Russian culture and I was able to appreciate the whole spectrum of its diversity. I was also able to develop professionally — I translated a scientific paper from Spanish into English and I worked as a Social Media Manager for the Russian news agency Sputnik Mundo.
What can I offer?
My education and experience show that I’m a very versatile individual, that I have strong work ethics and that I am focused on achieving high standards of excellence in everything I do.
- Proofreading a scientific paper in English.
- Translating the website of the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital Research Ethics Committee from Spanish and Catalan into English.
- Translating documentation related to a research project by the c-LOG group on childhood liver cancer from Spanish into English.
- Liaison interpreting (Spanish <> Russian) for a lawyer that had a teleconference with two Russian-speaking inmates.
